Because great photo sessions shouldn't feel confusing.
General Questions
Q: What types of sessions do you offer?
A: I offer full sessions (family, maternity, newborn), petite sessions (shorter versions of full), headshot sessions, seasonal mini sessions (spring and fall only), and my personal favorite—neighborhood sessions.
Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: If you're hoping for a weekend or a specific season (especially fall!), the earlier the better. My calendar fills quickly during popular months. Weekday sessions have more flexibility.
Q: Do you help with location planning?
A: Yes—because light and timing depend so much on where we shoot, I do require the location to be chosen before booking. I don’t offer full location scouting, but I have a ton of favorite options in the greater Seattle area. If you’re unsure, I’ll help you narrow it down and find something that photographs beautifully.
Q: What if it rains?
A: I always check the weather the day before and will reach out if things look iffy. If we need to reschedule due to rain, we’ll make the call the evening before your session. I save rain dates for both mini sessions and full sessions, so we’ll have a backup plan ready.
Q: What if my child doesn’t cooperate?
A: You’re not alone—this is super common. I always leave space for warm-ups and wiggles during full, petite, and neighborhood sessions. For mini sessions, we have less time, so I recommend showing up early, fed, and ready to jump in.
Q: Can we bring our dog?
A: Yes please! Just let me know ahead of time so I can plan for it.
Full Sessions
Q: What’s included in a full session?
A: A 45–60 minute session at a location of your choice, a slideshow of at least 75 images, and the ability to choose your image collection after viewing the gallery.
Q: Can we split the time between two locations?
A: In most cases, I recommend sticking to one spot so we don’t lose time to travel. But if you have two locations close together, feel free to ask!
Q: How do I choose my image collection?
A: You'll receive a full slideshow about a week after your session. From there, you can pick the collection that works best for you.
Q: Do all full session collections include print credit?
A: Almost all full session collections include a print credit. If you choose Collection One, you’ll still have access to the gallery store, but it doesn’t include a credit.
Petite Sessions
Q: Can we include extended family or siblings?
Petite sessions are designed for immediate family only. If you’d like to include more people, a full session is a better fit.
Q: Is 25 minutes enough time for toddlers?
A: Yes—as long as we keep expectations flexible. I’ll guide things gently and work with their energy.
Q: Can I upgrade my image collection?
A: Yes! You’ll receive a gallery after your session and can upgrade to the full collection if you’d like.
Mini Sessions
Q: How often do you offer mini sessions?
A: Twice a year: spring and fall. Newsletter subscribers get first dibs, and they always book up fast.
Q: Can we choose the location or time?
A: Mini sessions are held on set dates and locations that I choose specifically for their seasonal beauty. I offer several different times per date!
Q: Can we take breaks or bring snacks?
A: Minis are short and sweet, so there isn’t time for breaks. I recommend arriving early and making sure everyone’s well-fed and ready to jump in.
Neighborhood Sessions
Q: What counts as a neighborhood session?
A: These are full sessions done right in your own walkable neighborhood—your block, your sidewalk, your favorite tree.
Q: Do we have to walk the whole time?
A: Not the whole time, but a big part of the magic comes from walking slowly, stopping at familiar spots, and letting the session unfold naturally.
Q: Can this be a maternity session too?
A: Absolutely. I love neighborhood maternity sessions—there's something beautiful about capturing this moment in the place you'll bring your baby home to.
After the Session
Q: When will we get our photos?
A: You'll receive a slideshow within 7 business days (full and neighborhood sessions) or 5 business days (petite + mini sessions). Once you choose your image collection, final edits will be delivered within 3 business days of your completed invoice.
Q: Do you offer albums or prints?
A: Yes! Every session comes with a print credit (except Full Session Collection One), and I offer beautiful, high-quality photo albums and wall art through your gallery store.
